Services 
Illinois Child Care Bureau
assists family child care providers in understanding
the
role of nutrition in children’s physical, mental, and social health, as well
as their ability to learn.
We are a sponsor agency of the
Child and Adult Care
Food Program, a federally
funded nutrition education program. In Illinois, this
program is administered by the Illinois State
Board of Education.
All licensed day care home providers are eligible to participate in the
CACFP.
There is no fee to participate.
As a participant, you’ll receive:
Cash reimbursement for meals served to children in your care. Providers who are
income
eligible may also claim their own children on the program.
Six hours/year of in-home training to meet DCFS requirements.
Training packets, covering a variety of topics are also available to fulfill
DCFS requirements.
Our friendly, trained staff for any questions you have regarding menus and
regulations.
Four choices for recording menus – you choose the option that works for you.
A monthly newsletter in the mail containing recipes, nutrition updates and
activities for
the children.
Our complimentary annual Food Program Calendar and Recordkeeping Book.
In-home visits to provide you with additional training and resource materials.
Area workshops that provide nutrition training and DCFS hours in a casual and
fun
atmosphere.
